Brandon Dominguez, DNP, RN, CHSE, is a registered nurse and nurse educator with expertise in mental health nursing across inpatient and outpatient settings, including clinical, administrative, and research roles. He currently teaches mental health nursing concepts across LVN, ADN, and BSN pre-licensure programs. His professional background includes roles with Loma Linda University, Riverside University Health System, and Anthem, Inc., and he has guest lectured at Hertford College, University of Oxford.

Brandon sits at the intersection of nursing education, simulation, and applied technology. He was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE), Class of 2026, and is a certified Apple Learning Coach. He is also the creator and developer of Bedside Coach, an iPhone, iPad, and Mac app that leverages on-device AI to deliver high-impact nursing simulation experiences designed to strengthen clinical judgment and communication in a safe, repeatable learning environment. In addition to his teaching and clinical work, Brandon is the host of the West Coast University Journal of Health and Wellness podcast, where he interviews healthcare professionals and researchers on emerging topics in health and wellness. He is an author and content developer with Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), including co-authoring Engage Mental Health and contributing podcasts, simulations, and Next Generation NCLEX-style practice questions. He is also the author of Empowering Educators: A Comprehensive Guide to Fostering Student Success and has published a Nursing Study Workbook for undergraduates available through Apple Books.
Brandon actively contributes to the broader nursing education community through conference engagement and dissemination of innovation. In 2024, he presented at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) on enhancing clinical judgment through deliberate practice and virtual reality simulation, and he has presented and shared scholarly work through national forums including AACN and OADN. He also enjoys partnering with schools to plan and deploy modern learning technologies—including virtual reality, augmented reality, and Apple’s ecosystem of products—to strengthen student engagement, clinical reasoning, and simulation effectiveness.

Brandon earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University, an MSN in Nursing Education and BSN from Western Governors University, and an ADN from Riverside City College. His doctoral work emphasized reducing mental health hospital readmissions through motivational interviewing education. He was also selected to participate in the AACN Digital Innovator Academy in partnership with Apple, reflecting his ongoing commitment to modern, learner-centered, technology-enabled nursing education.
